A Little Holiday Baking and Christmas Plans

It's finally beginning to look a little like Christmas around here.  Although we could use a little snow.  Oh, and a tree.  But other than that we have the holiday spirit going strong.  The big project over the weekend was making Christmas treats to share with Donovan's platoon....roughly 40 guys.  I kept it simple with caramel corn, puppy chow, and cookies, but still, that's a lot of puppy chow!

And now, Donovan and I are getting ready to head to Germany tomorrow.  Donovan will be getting PRK done on his eyes so we'll be there for a little over a week.  We're very excited to see the area and check out some Christmas markets if we can.  Our time there also overlaps with block leave, so we're adding on some vacation days after Donovan gets his eyes zapped.  First stop is Lake Geneva in Switzerland for a night, then on to Chamonix where we'll spend Christmas.  We're hoping to do some skiing in Chamonix, but that will depend on how Donovan feels and if he can see anything.  Even without skiing, it will be a gorgeous place to spend Christmas.  We can't wait!

  1. The food looks gorgeous! All so neatly packaged. Hope all goes well for Donovan and his eye surgery. Chamonix is one place that I can say Dad and I have been to and it's beautiful. We have seen Lake Geneva. Enjoy all of your travels. We will be thinking of you over the holidays. Mom
